My sincerest desire is to become a computer scientist. Specifically, I am interested in exploring how problems can be modeled and solved using artificial intelligence. I also want to learn about human cognition and machine intelligence. I have been studying the online debate over whether machines will ever become “intelligent” given the current course of research and reading about such issues as whether a machine can acquire “common sense” (as discussed in Hubert Dreyfus's book “What Computers Still Can't Do”). I have been exploring many different areas within the domain of artificial intelligence (such as neural networks, genetic algorithms, and natural language processing). The bottom line is that I want to be a part of this exciting field.
Over the summer I traveled to Russia, and thoroughly enjoyed exploring a very different part of the world.
My other interests include current affairs and sports, such as football, tennis and general fitness. Ever since the start of sixth form I have been a successful member of the college football team. I have played basketball as an enrichment activity because it was a new sport to me at the beginning of sixth form. I also participated in a 5-a-side indoor football tournament at the college. In addition to pursuing my academic studies I would like to continue some of these sports at university.

1、看房

一、在国内学法语
有一部分学生会选择在国内学习法语，法国留学在国内是比较流行的，所以国内也有不少不错的法语学 习班，通过培训可以将学生的法语水平进行一定的提升。

2.语言学校
当然，为了更好地进行语言的学习，更系统的学好法语，还是建议大家去语言学校学习，毕竟语言学校的教学会更加的规范。

一、材料方面

Knowing where one is heading during navigation brings assured happiness. As a student majoring in Computer Software, I began my odyssey four years ago. Now, after the initial mysticism was gradually unveiled, my curiosity remains the same. Indeed, having entered this splendid computer world, I am more than greedy for something new.
From the beginning of my study, my endeavor was fixed on the underlying branches of Computer Science, particularly System Software development. Novel applications on other’s platform may be fruitful, but I think it’s more appealing to act as an independent “manager”. In fact, mathematics, OS, DBMS and modern compiler are all the examples, any breakthrough of which would push forward the whole industry. Individuality is achieved in this unique position.
My paces toward this goal are always steady. As mathematics permeates to the every corner of Computer Science, I am eager to see how it functions. I took courses offered by the Mathematics Department including Mathematical Analysis and Advanced Algebra. The curriculum also covered Discrete Mathematics, Probability & Statistics and Theoretical Computer Science. As supplement to my scope of knowledge, I learn by myself Combination Mathematics and the Science of Programming. This really made a hard period of time, but the harvest was rewarding. I come to understand that even the most irrelevant software disciplines have the origins in common. The importance of Fractured Geometry in Computer Graphics is already obvious. What if a step furthers toward TSP or Bin Packing? Immeasurable. Then came my favorite topics: Operating System, Compiler and Database. I worked hard and derived bits of my own insight. In fact, I was greatly encouraged to find some of my ideas successfully implemented in the corresponding course projects. My final grade is straight “As” in these coursed. In short, although my experience in Computer Science is still limited, I believe its depth is well accessible. As my advisor, Prof. Fang Yu, put it figuratively in one of his lectures: “ It makes no difference whether a hunter captures 5 or 7 rabbits. What counts is he knows how to use his gun.”
I think I can be the qualified shooter now. in my undergraduate years, I have earned various kinds of scholarships, among which were “Peking University Fellowship” and “Excellent Academic Scholarship”. My overall GPA ranks upper 10% among 48 students of the same grade. Because of my satisfactory performance, I was granted the honor of entering the graduate program at Peking University directly, waived of the admission test. In retrospect, my workload is always heavy but it is worth my time of effort. Presently, I have both adequate theoretical understanding and rich programming experience. READY I AM.
Of all the sub-areas of Computer Science, my major interest is parallel processing and the related compiler construction. The terminology of parallel processing came to me when I read an article about digital circuit testing. According to this article, there exist many serial approaches of solving the automatic test pattern generation (ATPG) problem. Though certain method of solving ATPG sometimes proved efficient, the computation time for a method of solving ATPG sometimes proved efficient, the computation time for a complete result is intolerable, the a parallel processing machine is proposed. Using paralleled ATPG method, this NP complete dilemma is ingeniously handled. After reading, I surprisingly realized that parallel processing opened a new window for the computationally intensive problems, which prove intractable for the VON NEUMANN Architecture. You can always first split a specific computational task into several independent divisions, then assign each part to a certain processor. With reasonable partition and proper synchronization, most grueling scientific applications can be reduced to normal scale problems.
With the advent of the multiprocessor architecture, compiler optimization faced a new challenge. A compiler not only has to translate, but it is also responsible for generating parallel-processing loop provides a rich opportunity of exploiting parallelism. Therefore, finding an optimum strategy for loops because a hot research topic. On the whole, parallelism changes our view toward the conventional computer architecture so that the compiler’s construction must make the corresponding modification. Because of this challenging characteristic, I choose them to be my interest of future study.
Yet parallel processing is far from maturity. It has been observed that some sequential algorithms can be easily translated into fast parallel algorithms while some others may not. Is every sequential computation can be done efficiently in parallel? If not, what properties result in such distinction? Another unsettled problem is programming parallel computers now is like programming serial computers in the 1960s. Programmers get locked into a particular manufacturer’s computers. Is it possible for us to design a higher level language for parallel computers that hides the underlying machine architecture from users? Both are crying out for solution.
Without advanced knowledge, I can do nothing but wait. In order to convert my undergraduate study into full play, graduate education is a necessity. From the college guide and my advisor’s recommendation, I am pleased to learn that your department has an academic atmosphere where originality is appreciated and individual potential is explored. It will be the best place for my specialized study. If possible, my main interest in the future will be in the following areas:
Parallel processing, Compiler construction.
Distributed/concurrent systems, Operating system.
Machine learning, Automated fault diagnosis.

英国留学住宿费用
一、寄宿家庭
寄宿在英国本地的家庭内，是目前比较热门的方式之一，申请一般是线上进行的，学校会有负责的部门，直接对焦到官方的申请界面，大家可以根据自己的要求进行筛选。
选择是双向的，申请需要填写自己的基本情况和入住要求，而家庭在收到申请之后，也可以对学生进行考察，收费一般是按月进行的，一个月要准备好5000-8000元之间，如果需要餐饮服务需要额外缴费。
二、学生宿舍
留学生在宿舍申请上有优先的权利，有单人间和多人套间可以选择，房间一般不会很大，但是基础的设备是比较齐全的，申请同样直接在学校上提交，只要还有房子，就会直接分配给学生。
比较高端的是Catered，除了有独立位于外，还会配有早晚两顿饭;普通的则是Self-Catered，Studio是标准单间，卫浴齐全，En-Suite和Standard都是套间，前者有独立卫浴，后者只有公用的。
入住宿舍，需要交纳一笔定金，金额是一个月的租金，而正是租金是分周交纳的，一周需要800-1200元，一个月3200-4800元，退租的时候会对设备进行检查，没有损坏全额退还，有损坏会直接从押金中口。
三、自主租房
到了英国后，你会发现自己租房子，其实会比住在宿舍里面更便宜，尤其是和其他人一起合租，所以很多学生在读完一学年之后，有了比较好的朋友，会选择退宿舍直接租房子。
大家租房一定要确认安全性，比较可靠的渠道是中介，虽然需要额外花钱，但是后续可以节省很多的麻烦，不过自己还是要认真的检查房子周边和内部配置，确认没有安全的隐患。
可以选择的房型会更多一些，自己一个人住的话单人间面积会更大一些;合租有Standard、House等不同的规模，入住的人越多越划算，但是大家一定要提前确认，平摊后的月租在3000-5000元年之间。
英国留学学生福利一览
1、免费医疗
NHS(National HealthService)公共医疗体系，留学生可以免费获得包括处方药、牙医、眼部护理、旅行医疗保健在内的多项免费服务，其实这些费用都在之前申请的时候已经交过啦。
2、国际学生卡
在英国，如果学生办理了国际学生卡，在买车票、飞机票、参观博物馆等，就能享受到相当多的折扣。
3、购物退税
在留学签证到期的前3个月，就可以享受退税政策。商店会要你的护照号码和国内的地址，保存好单据和物品以便在三个月之内出关时退税。
如果你在一个商店有很多单据，可以在走前统一在该商店开总单据，以确保是在离境前三个月之内退税的，并且请店家填好购物金额、品项和签名，才算是有效的退税表格。
到机场海关时，把退税表交给海关工作人员，即可选择拿到现金或是打入卡里。
4、打工
英国政府目前是允许留学生打工的。具体规定为：学期期间每周最多20小时，假期可全职工作。大部分英国院校都有专门人员负责帮学生介绍工作。
5、交通卡折扣
年龄在16-25岁之间的海外留学生，凭护照、免冠照片可以在各大火车站办理
Young Person Rail Card，享受火车票价的三分之一off的优惠。年龄超过25岁的海外学生，
可以凭国际学生卡ISIC(International student identity card)办理。办卡费用都是27英镑。

第一、了解申请国家的留学签证申请条件

I have alsoregistered to take part in a St Johns Ambulance first aid course in September20xx, which I hope will be beneficial to me. In the past I have travelled to Switzerland, Italy and Ireland, allexperiences I totally enjoyed. In the future I would like to travel further afield, particularly to Asia. I would also like to help third world countries,and to work as a doctor for charities helping these countries. As well astravelling I enjoy reading, especially horror and medical fiction, by authorssuch as Steven King and Michael Crichton. I am applying for acceptance into your graduate program for a Doctor’s degree in statistics. I plan to begin my studies in the fall of . Nature is full of mysteries, one of which seems to be its apparent readiness to conform with mathematical principles. Such mysteries have fascinated me since my childhood, prompting me to avidly read scientific writings by Hua Lougeng, China’s most celebrated mathematician in the modern era, even while I was still in primary school. Unable to fully understand Hua’s books as I must have been, I learned that mathematics was itself wrapped with mysteries.
My intense interest, coupled with my hard work, in mathematics paid off. During my third year in senior middle school, I took part in the National Mathematics Contest for students in secondary education, and succeeded in winning the tenth spot in a lineup of some two hundred thousand selected participants. It was at that time that I made up my mind to pursue a career in mathematics. In 1985, I entered into the East China Normal University to major in mathematics. The mandatory courses ware concentrated mainly in two areas: statistics and application technologies. There were also many elective courses. In addition to courses of statistics and mathematics, I spent a lot of time and energy learning such practical skills as computer programming and the application of some new software systems in statistics. After graduation in 1990, I taught statistics for four years at another university until I decided that I had to satisfy my curiosity further and learn more. In 1994, I joined a graduate program at the Beijing Polytechnic University, where I concentrated my studies in the area of artificial intelligence.
Never a bookworm, I presided over a sampling survey of the middle schools in Shanghai, and published my findings in the ECNU journal. The topic for my graduation paper, the problem of slow server, was actually culled from an article published in pursuing more advanced studies in a technologically more advanced country such as the United States. These journals provided me the necessary quality and amount of reference materials t keep me informed of the cutting edge of the field. The new method that I used in my research and my smooth answers at my defense of the paper could all trace their origin back to the journals that I had read. On the basis of my strong defense, the supervising committee decided unanimously t grant me an unequivocal A for my graduation paper. During the period of my graduate studies, I learned more about the realization technology (not sure what you are trying to say) by using computer programming. In image processing, I used the multianalysis and category theory in statistics, and I helped to institute a recognition system for major fingerprint characteristics. I have been working as a lecturer at the Beijing Polytechnic University since I obtained my Master’s degree. Besides teaching, I have been conducting market analysis as part of several research teams.
I have basically two main reasons to wish for further studies abroad. First, the rapid development of the statistical science fascinates me, and I would like to stand firmly on the cutting edge of the field by having myself grounded in more advanced theories. Second, the market research that I am now involved in is pushing me to master newer and better methodologies, I believe that graduate studies with your department is one of the best ways for me to attain both purposes.
I am convinced that the academic foundation I have laid in both theoretical frameworks and practical skills will help me make a competent student in my proposed studies. 一、房租
取决于大家选择的类型，如果时间足够的话可以申请宿舍，早提交才有机会入住，宿舍的租金价格比较稳定，城市间的差异也不大，一般都在200-300欧之间，安全和环境都不错。
而租房则需要考虑更多的事情，尤其是地域带来的影响，因为房型基本上是差不多的，而且合租是大部分学生的选择，内部的配置也差不多，大城市就是会贵一些，租金在400-700欧之间。
二、餐饮
区分出日常饮食和聚会聚餐，平时就直接在食堂解决，虽然只有西餐，但是卫生有保障，价格也比较划算，学生有专属的优惠，比较适合课程安排比较多的学生，不需要花很长时间在吃上面。
而人数比较多的聚餐，则更适合出去吃，餐馆能够提供更多的选择和合适包厢，大家有一个相对独立的环境进行社交，或者邀请大家去家里一起做饭，成本会低一些，一个月加起来也需要300欧左右。
三、购物
日用品属于消耗品，大家需要定期进行采购，一个月是比较常见的时间段，大家可以在平时有需要买的东西的时候，列一个清单，这样会比较方便后续的购物，也可以克制自己不会乱买东西。
比较大的开销还有买衣服等东西的钱，因为基本上单品都不会很便宜，毕竟便宜的更换频率高不划算，冬天的衣服会更贵，平均下来一个月的预算在200欧左右。
四、出行

Due to the comprehensiveness of China’s “reform and open” policies， economics plays an increasingly important role in the development of its global position. Though more and more companies built， management of companies cannot catch up with the development of the companies. Management is a burgeoning field in China， so I hope I can acquire more modern knowledge on management in England. The roots of my strong interest in business can be traced back to my childhood. My father was among the first of China’s new breed of modern entrepreneurs. As a young girl， it was inspirational hearing about his business ventures， and meeting the varied and interesting circle of entrepreneurs. My mother was also involved in business as an accountant， helping him with simple calculations. And so it was early in my life that I hoped I， also， would someday be able to enter the realm of business.
With the time of growing up， I preferred reading books to satisfy my curiosity. I never ceased to contemplate over the questions I encountered. Subjects on business and management became a special fascination to me and my knowledge of psychology as well as interest in this field was increasing rapidly.
As a high school student in China， I had to concentrate on the College Entrance Examination (CEE)， even so， books not related to the exams were never excluded from my life. Unfortunately when sitting in the exam in June， ， I was so nervous that I didn’t score well in the CEE exam. I enrolled in the department of Computer Science in Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Any attempt to persuade myself to focus on my major turned out to be a failure at the beginning of my college life. After several terms， I realized that I would never be interested in being a programmer or an engineer. At that moment， I lost my direction and objectives.
My persistence in reading saved me from the dark situation. As a matter of fact， I enjoyed reading the books included Encyclopedia American， and some books about management by Peter F.Drucker. I began to notice something interesting： Why some companies can produce more than others? Why some company can sell more than others? Why some companies can build up but others cannot when facing the same difficulties?
With the questions in my mind， I started to read many relevant books. I was lucky to read the book “Jack： Straight from the Gut”by Jack Welch， in Which John A. Byrne makes a clear illustration that the management is important for a company. When I was a junior， I ran a bookshop by myself near my school. I should manage not only the finance in the shop but also the employees in my shop even made some strategies to enlarge the business in my shop to hold on the run the shop. From this， my interpersonal skills and the capacity in business has been greatly developed， definitely I was increasingly interested in what I was doing. By December， ， I had finally determined to take business management as my career instead of IT. To accumulate more relevant knowledge， I strived to gain more practical work experience in some big companies.
Fortunately， as a senior， I began by conducting an internship in the Architecture Company in Zhejiang Province.
