五一长假里，我从墙角处捉来一只小蜘蛛，把它放进一个玻璃瓶里。蜘蛛放进去以后，我又找来一只死苍蝇，放在玻璃瓶里，蜘蛛纹丝不动，我立刻用手敲击玻璃瓶，蜘蛛就向其它地方爬去。
为了搞清楚蜘蛛为什么不吃死苍蝇，第二天，我又跑到玻璃瓶前观察，看到蜘蛛还是不吃，我有点着急了，不过玻璃瓶中间多了一个蜘蛛网，蜘蛛在网上安静地趴着。
这时，我想：昨天死苍蝇、死昆虫没被吃掉是不是由于没有网呢?所以，我又将死苍蝇用牙签把死苍蝇放在蜘蛛网上，可蜘蛛还是一动不动，接着我又用牙签轻轻地震动了一下蜘蛛网上的死蜘蛛，突然，蜘蛛好像有了反应，向死蜘蛛的方向爬去，我把牙签收回，它就停了下来，我又用牙签触动蜘蛛网上的死苍蝇，蜘蛛网开始颤动，蜘蛛就又向这里爬来。哦!我知道了：原来蜘蛛是靠蜘蛛网的颤动来发现昆虫的。
于是，我又做了一次实验，我将牙签放在蜘蛛网上的死苍蝇身上，快速的颤动，蜘蛛网的振动越来越大，蜘蛛产生的感觉好像也越来越大，蜘蛛便急促地爬过来，等蜘蛛马上要碰到死苍蝇时，我又将牙签收回，只见蜘蛛尾部很快喷出粘乎乎的丝将苍蝇捆住，接着又看着蜘蛛的背一动一动的，好像在吸食苍蝇，过了一会，蜘蛛网上就剩下一个完整的苍蝇壳了。这个实验证明了蜘蛛只吃动的昆虫。
为了确定这一点，我又翻了一下书籍，书上写着：蜘蛛是食肉性动物，其食物大批是昆虫或其他节肢动物。但口无上颚，不直接吞食固体食物，而是冉冉地吸食。当昆虫等动物触网时，会使劲在网上反抗，使网丝颤动而使蜘蛛很快觉察，蜘蛛便顺着纵向丝向猎物爬去，用蛛丝包裹猎物，牢固于网上，先用螯肢内的毒腺渗出毒液注入捕捉猎物体内，将其杀死，再由中肠分泌的消化酶灌输在被螯肢撕碎的捕获物的结构中，很快将其阐明为液汁，而后吸进消化道内，结果吃剩下的体壳，就被完整的弃留在蛛网上了。
通过做实验和书上写的资料，我终于明白了：蜘蛛是靠网来捕食猎物的只要网上有活昆虫，昆虫在网上产生颤动，蜘蛛就会立刻爬过去将猎物杀死，并吸食。
